MEET KIT AT THE BLADE SHOW IN ATLANTA, MAY 29th-31st
Kit will be displaying and selling at the BLADE Show in Atlanta, May 29th-June 31st. More than 700 exhibitors and thousands of knife collectors from around the world will be at the BLADE Show. It is the worlds largest knife show, with over 108,000 square feet of knife exhibits featuring custom knives, antique knives, manufacturer displays, and a host of knife and knifemaking seminars. Kit will be selling his throwing knives, swords, art Zippos art lighters, and a selection of his limited edition swords. The scabbard, made of imitation and genuine leather, is custom designed to fit the new Avoloch sword (#KR0038). MOLOTOCH SWORD WILL RETURN!
We have received hundreds of emails from people trying to complete thier Swords of the Ancients collection asking for Kit's Molotoch sword (#KR0013) to be made again, so later this year we will be producing this massive sword for a short time. The Molotoch sword has not been available for several years so we hope this news will please many of you who have been waiting for its return. We will announce the shipping date as we get more info.

DAMASCUS SWORDS
Yes, the rumors are true. Kit is working on Damascus versions of a few of his favorite swords. Some dealers are already taking pre-orders on the Mithrodin Damascus sword (#KR0025D) and Exotath Damascus sword (#KR0030D) . These will be STRICTLY LIMITED TO 100 swords each due the the high cost to forge real folded Damascus steel long forging time. These are expected to start shipping in July 2009. AVOLOCH FIRST PRODUCTION RUN NOW SHIPPING!
The first production run of the Avoloch (KR0038A) is now shipping from authorized Kit Rae dealers. Avoloch is the latest in the Swords of the Ancients collection! Strictly limited to 1500 pieces worldwide, this first production run is serial numbered and includes an autographed custom art print. The Avoloch features three stainless steel blades (false edged), engraved runes, finely detailed cast metal hilt parts with antique metal finish, and a genuine leather wrapped blade and handle grip. Includes a certificate of authenticity. 24 1/2" blade. 43 3/4" overall. Avoloch is the Sword of Enethia, a Mithrodin warrior in service to the Great Realm who fought against the Dark One. Forged by the dark elf Tethietol, the side blade is engraved with "Avoloch will yield to none but truth", in Anglecal runes. The word Avoloch is from the ancient language of Thant, and it was the name used for the warrior class of the Mithrodin, translated as "soldier of steel".

KIT'S BLACKJET DAGGER ON BURN NOTICE
If you are a fan of USA Network's Burn Notice, you may have seen Kit's BlackJet Throwing Dagger (KR0034) used in a recent episode. In the second season episode “Seek and Destroy” Seymour, Michael and Fiona's gun smuggler friend, gives each of them the throwing daggers as gifts at the end of the episode, and comments that the symbol on the handle means “destiny”. MITHRODIN SWORD IN THE SPIRIT MOVIE
One of Kit's favorite films is the Frank Miller/Robert Rodriguez film Sin City. When Frank Miller set out to make a film version of one of his favorite comics, Will Eisner's The Spirit, the producers contacted United Cutlery about using some swords and knives in the film. One of those chosen was Kit's Mithrodin Sword (#KR0025). There are also some miniature Kit Rae Isis Daggers in the film. The Spirit is in theaters now. Official Website

HAPPY NEW YEAR!
We hope everyone had a great great Christmas and New Years holiday. We have a lot of great stuff coming for 2009. Many items scheduled for 2008 were delayed, but the good news is 2009 will be full of new Kit Rae fantasy weapons and art. Here are some long overdue updates.

BLACK LEGION WAR AXE COMING IN FEBRUARY
The war axe held by the Barumen in Kit's Exotath painting is coming! The first production run of 500 axes produced will be serial numbered and include an Art Print autographed by Kit Rae. The Black Legion War Axe (#KR0037A) is the primary weapon of the Black Legion, monstrous foot soldiers of the Dark One. This massive axe features a mirror polished, Japanese milled stainless steel blade and back spike, engraved runes, solid metal and wood handle parts, and a genuine leather wrapped grip. It is 36“ overall, with a 19 1/2” false edged blade. Each axe will include a certificate of authenticity. The perfect companion to the Black Legion Battle Axe (#KR0022). By popular request Kit will be making a gold edition of the Mithrodin Sword (#KR0025G). 300 of these will be made, with 24K gold plates hilt parts and a blackened blade with gold runes. More info to come, but we expect these to be shipping from dealers around April.

MITHRODIN WALL DISPLAY STAND!
A specially designed wall display stand (#KR0041) for the Mithrodin sword will be available from dealers around March. This display stand will also fit the new Avoloch sword.

BLACK LEGION WAR AXE COMING SOON
For those of you who requested that war axe held by the Barumen in Kit's Exotath painting be produced, your wish will be granted. The War Axe has been in the works for many months now. Kit is in the prototype stage right now, but the axe is getting close to being finalized. The item number will be KR0037. 10/15/08 Update

EXOTATH SCABBARD COMING!
Many collectors have requested it, so a custom designed scabbard for the Exotath sword is coming later this year! The scabbard will be made of imitation and genuine leather and features a fully adjustable shoulder strap. It is made to fit the Exotath but also fits most swords with a maximum blade length of 31“ and a max width of 2 3/4”. Tentatively scheduled for December '08. More info will be posted soon!

GOLD EXOTATH COMING IN DECEMBER
For those of you that collect the gold versions of Kit's swords, a limited edition 18K gold plated version of the Exotath (KR0030G) is almost here. It is strictly limited to 300 pieces and each will be serial numbered and come with a certificate of authenticity, hand signed by Kit. These are scheduled to be shipping from Kit's distributor, United Cutlery, to dealers sometime in mid December. Some dealers are taking pre-orders now! Suggested retail is $331. EXOTATH WALL DISPLAY COMING IN DECEMBER

DRAGONCON PHOTOS!
DragonCon (dragoncon.org) in Atlanta this past Labor Day weekend was a huge success. It was a lot of work and we are glad to be home, but we will definitely be back next year! Thanks to all of our old friends, and the new ones we made at the show, for coming by the booth in the Marriot. Special thanks to the many long time collectors who came by. It was great to see you all again. The costumes were great and the show was nuts as usual. Teresa was mobbed for photos Friday night in her Indiana Jane costume. DRAGONCON IN ATLANTA on LABOR DAY WEEKEND
Kit will be appearing at Dragoncon (dragoncon.org) in Atlanta, Georgia August 29 - September 1, 2008. Kit will be signing and selling his swords, knives, limited edition art prints, posters, Zippo art lighters, and statues in the Kit Rae Fantasy Art booth located in the Dealer Hall of the Marriot Marquis International Ballroom. Kit will also have a few of the replica Hiro Nakamura swords from the NBC television series, HEROES, for which Kit did the reverse engineering of the original prop and supervised the replica. Dragoncon is America's largest multi media popular arts convention, focusing on science fiction, gaming, comics, literature, art, music, and film. Host Hotels for the con are the Hyatt Regency Atlanta, Atlanta Marriot Marquis, and the Atlanta Hilton. This is our last big con for the year so we hope to see you there! Also, if you see a gorilla/tie fighter pilot/jedi and his Indiana Jane companion after hours, you may want to say hi!

EXOTATH MYTHOLOGY ADDED TO THE TALE OF SWORDS OF THE ANCIENTS PAGE
I know it's late, but I have finally finished writing the mythology of the Exotath swords and it has been added to the Tale of the Swords of the Ancients page. The mythology tells of the swords' creation, the Elf Agnemmel, the Dark One, the sorcerer wars, and of the oracle Methuscia when she was young. Translations of the blade runes are also included in the tale. The Map of the Swords of the Ancients has also been expanded to include the new locations from the mythology.

BLACKJET THROWING AXE TARGET BUILDING AND TIPS
For those of you who own a BlackJet Axe, I thought I would post some pix of my own throwing target. This was made entirely of scrap wood so it looks a bit shabby but it gets the job done. If you buy wood, use treated lumber for the frame so it won't warp on you after it rains. My target is 7 1/2' tall and 20” wide, and 39“ deep from the front to the back supports. I built it to lean slightly back, about 80 degrees. I found this does not affect throwing, but when a novice makes a bad throw and gets a bounce-back it can shave the distance it comes back! I use 1 1/2” thick x 9 1/4“ wide x 2' long replaceable boards (the boards you see on the left and right are new boards) and I just flip them over when one side gets chopped up. When they get really worn I replace them with new ones. I use 3” wood screws and attach them from the back, never the front. You don't want your blade to hit a screw. Be sure to run the grain vertically so your axes and knives stick more easily. Next time I'll post some throwing tips.

                    ...and for those of you who have just started throwing, here are a few pix of the many ways you can trick-throw the BlackJet; point-first, axe-tip first, back-point first, and pommel-tip first. I designed it with several points so when you master one way of throwing you can change to another. If you are wondering, I never use the actual cutting edge for throwing. My favorite throw is to stick the two top points first, just like a throwing knife.

NOTICE! SOME EXOTATH'S MISSING KIT'S AUTOGRAPH ON POSTER
We just found that the first shipment of Exotath autographed editions that shipped to dealers from United Cutlery last week were packed with the unsigned posters by mistake. Kit hand signed the posters with a gold metallic pen on the lower left side. The lower right side has a smaller signature that was in the original art. If your poster is missing the hand signed signature contact United Cutlery at 1-800-548-0835 about geting your poster replaced. We are very sorry for any inconvenience this has caused. EXOTATH - PHOTOS AND ART of the NEW SWORD OF THE ANCIENTS!
Exotath is the latest in the Swords of the Ancients collection. This sword has been in the works for the past year and it is near complete so we can at last post some photos! The sword should be shipping from dealers sometime in March if all goes well. There are plans to release a custom fit wall plaque and a shoulder scabbard in a few months as well. Dealers should be taking pre-orders for the autographed first production run now, so get you orders in with your favorite Kit Rae supplier soon. We expect the first 1500 to go fast as this is the first 'new' Kit Rae sword design in almost two years! The new Exotath poster art is up in the Gallery, and the mythology story behind the sword is up in the Tale of the Swords of the Ancients section. As with previous editions, Kit has hand signed the first 1500 posters included with each sword. Below are photos of the prototype.

BLACKJET THROWING AXE NOW SHIPPING!
Kit Rae is well known for his fantasy swords and blades, but few know Kit has also been an avid throwing knife and axe enthusiast for over fifteen years. Now Kit has added his own favorite throwing axe design to the Kit Rae. The BlackJet is fully functional, constructed of one solid piece of 420 stainless steel. It is 14 7/8" overall in length and includes a nylon blade pouch. These are fun to throw and Kit has designed them with three points (axe edge, back point, pommel point) to stick in your target, so whether you are a novice or pro you can still enjoy! Shipping to authorized dealers in early December, in time for Christmas.

KIT RAE IN THE MOVIES
We have not had a movie appearance update in a while so here are a few recent ones. Both versions of Kit's Sword of Vaelen (UC1121, UC1240) make an appearance in Eli Roth's film Hostel 2, and no, they are not used to kill anyone. Actress Bijou Phillips and Lauren German play-swordfight in one scene of the film. A few knockoffs of the Sword of Darkness are also visible in another scene. Kit's sword Anathros makes an appearance, this time not in a film, but in the DVD box art for the unrated version of the film Pathfinder. We don't know why Anathros was used instead of the hero sword used in the film. Perhaps some graphic designer at Sony pictures just thought it was cool. DRAGONCON 2007 WAS A SUCCESS!
Dragoncon (dragoncon.org) was a huge success in Atlanta this past Labor Day Weekend. Teresa and I met some really great people and we appreciate all of the positive comments. It is very satisfying to get to meet and talk with you fans and collectors. Thanks to everyone who came by our booth, and the Bud-K (budk.com)booth where Kit did signings in the Exhibitor Hall. Also, thanks to my absolutely incredible wife T, sis Lana for helping with the tear down, and Mom for the great dinner Sunday night. DRAGONCON IN ATLANTA on LABOR DAY WEEKEND
Kit will be appearing at Dragoncon (dragoncon.org) in Atlanta, Georgia August 31st - September 3rd, 2007. KIT RAE SWORDS IN "TWO WORLDS" GAME
Many of Kit's weapon designs appear in the new PC / X-Box 360 role playing game game "Two Worlds" (2-worlds.com), from TopWare Interactive. A special tri-lingual Collector's Edition (English, French and German) of Two Worlds was also released to the European market at the same time as the basic version - and in addition to the game itself, this surprise package has lots of extra goodies. First of all, there's a miniature metal version of the Kilgorin sword that appears in the game. Then there's a T-shirt and a card game (55 sheets), both with the exclusive Two Worlds design. The magic box also contains a double-sided poster in A2 format with a beautifully-worked map and some artwork. The Valermos sword is featured on the packaging art for the basic version, and several of Kit's Swords of the Ancients swords and his Black Legion Battle Axe can be used by players in the game! LONGCLAW SWORD FROM GEORGE R.R. MARTIN'S "A SONG OF ICE AND FIRE"
Kit has designed John Snow's sword Longclaw, from the New York Times best selling author Gorge R.R. Martin's popular book series "A Song of Ice and Fire". The sword is part of the new Valyrian Steel line of licensed arms and armour from the book series to be produced by Jalic, Inc. "A Song of Ice and Fire" is also on track to become an HBO series. THE "NEW" UNITED CUTLERY WILL DISTRIBUTE KIT RAE FANTASY ART WEAPONS
United Cutlery, under new ownership, will continue to be the exclusive distributor of the Kit Rae Fantasy Art brand. On January 11th United Cutlery was purchased by Clint Kadel. Clint has been in the knife business since 1989 and is also the owner of a large cutlery retail company headquartered in Moultrie, Georgia. The United offices and warehouse facility will now operate out of Thomasville, Georgia. Kit has signed an exclusive deal with UC to continue to bring you his unique fantasy weapons. There are many new designs Kit can't wait to get started on with the new UC, as well as many other fantasy related products new to the Kit Rae brand. We wish Clint and his staff the best of luck in bringing United Cutlery back online, and back on-track, and look forward to a long and prosperous future with them.

COLLECTORS - Hang in there! We know Kit's products have been very hard to find recently, and it will take a little more time to get production up and running again, but products will be available soon.

UNITED CUTLERY BANKRUPTCY
As many of you may have heard, United Cutlery, the distributor of the Kit Rae Fantasy Art line of knives and swords, filed for bankruptcy late in 2006. United was purchased in January by Bud-K, a large cutlery retailer and wholesaler operating out of Moultree, Georgia. Kit has not decided if he will stay with the new owners of United or move to a new distributor. We know many of you retailers and wholesalers want to know who to buy products from going forward, so we will announce news here as soon as the decision has been made. STAY TUNED!

DarkCon in Phoenix was a blast! Kit was the artist guest of honor. Thanks to Nola and the staff of DarkCon for making us feel welcome and making it such a great con. ELEXORIEN BAND
Elexorien is a metal band from the Netherlands, named for Kit's famous sword. Their music is "Epic Fantasy Battle Metal", as they describe it. Check out their website and music at: elexorien.com
